About

What do you need to know about me? I am a Waukesha native. I’m raising my boys in the same neighborhood I grew up in. Most days I survive on coffee and diet coke. But most of all … I’m just messy me. My life has continued to unravel and unfold, then knit itself into something amazingly beautiful.

Let’s start with what’s most important.

I am a mama to four boys.

My oldest is 13 and my littles are 9.

My littles are triplets.

Their brother, Owen, passed away when they were infants. But I carried three babies. I gave birth to three babies. I am a mom to triplets. Always.

Something else you should know about me …

If we meet randomly, I’ll let you I have four sons – a 13 year old and triplet nine year olds. We’ll laugh and joke about what a crazy ride it is to raise all my boys. You’ll never know that Owen died. I’ll take advantage of the fact that we will most likely never cross paths again and I’ll pretend to live the life that God intended me to live.

The next thing you need to know about me is that I love easily and fully. I’m deeply in love with my man, Gary, and I love my family to no end. I live within walking distance of my mom and my sister. My little brother is only a phone call away in MN. If I call you friend, you are already in my family love circle.

If you follow along with me we’ll get to know each other better over time. The best way to get to know one another is to spend some time together. I’d love to get to know more about you!

  1. So fun to look at your registries. You have everything getting in order. When is the shower? Are you going to put all the boys in one crib? I only see one on the registry 🙂 I love looking at your blog! Hope all is well – miss your smile.

    • The Bissing shower is in two weeks. I think my mom is going to have a shower when the babies are home. It’ll be a meet and greet and then a chance to get the things we didn’t know we needed.

I hope AZ is treating you well! Looks like you and the family are having a great time from what you post on facebook!

  4. Hi there,

Here at VIVOBAREFOOT we are strong advocates of the fact that kids’ feet need plenty of space to grow in their shoes. We have teamed up with Tracy Byrne, a leading Podiatrist who specializes in Podo-Paediatrics, to create a fun and colorful animation that explains the science behind our shoes, how it benefits children, and why barefoot really is best.

It is estimated that 80% of foot problems are attributed to misshaped and inflexible shoes. Because of the high proportion of cartilage and other soft tissue, the developing foot can be deformed under the persistent pressure of wearing incorrectly shaped or rigid shoes. The child’s foot does not fully mature until age 18–19 for girls and 20–21 for boys and growing evidence supports that children’s shoes should be designed on the barefoot model.

Please let me know if you would like any additional information on VIVOBAREFOOT. Also, feel free to re-post the video on your site if you are interested in sharing with your readers.

    Kind Regards,
    Connor

  5. Hi,

Hope this finds you in the best of health.

I am a student at Stanford University and have launched a social networking website for mums called MumGum.com – http://www.mumgum.com

Here, they can share their thoughts, emotions and humorous stories about their kids with mums from their locality. I am sure that your audience would value such an information. I request you to review the website.

    Thanking you

    Sobby

  9. I ALSO just found your blog through the Parents awards!! I’m so sorry for the loss of your little one! My little girl was born just 4 days after you lost little Owen. I love that you donated and gave life to other hopeful babies! From now on, I will always think of Owen when I wear orange! Your family is beautiful!

  10. You are an inspiration. I’m glad I stumbled on your blog. I might have to add a quotables page to mine! I’m always finding, and then losing, wonderful quotes.

  11. My heart aches for your family. I am so very sorry for your loss. I would love to speak with you sometime. You see, I just found your site as I was googling places named Owen to visit for a vacation. I was doing this because we lost our little baby boy named Owen on October 29,2011. We have also started a foundation in his memory called Honoring Angels Like Owen (H.A.L.O.). And coincidentally, we also use orange to represent our little Owen. We do this because his little stuffed monkey had an orange ribbon around its neck. That little monkey never left his side. We even burried him with a duplicate one (We wanted to keep the original). I would love to hear from you. I don’t believe finding this site is an accident. We have experienced so many “God things” since our loss. God has brought so many wonderful people into our lives who have helped us on our journey. I also have a blog that I just started last week. It is http://turntojoy.blogspot.com/ if you would like to read about our Little “O”. Feel free to contact me or call. My number is 334-328-1202. The website is honoringangelslikeowen.org. May God bless your family continually!

  12. I have been reading your blog for the past year. I think your story really touched my heart. I also feel energized by your strong faith. I am now the mother of 3 sons. My 3rd son was born in Dec. 2012 and we named him Owen. I loved the strong name and I feel a little connection to your little angel Owen. May God always bless your family. You are a role model mother for me:)
